The problem
Sometimes you will notice that certain jpeg images are not shown while using Internet Explorer. The same images are displayed without any problem in other browsers, the file paths are OK, the HTML is perfect … but IE just refuses to show them. So what is the problem?
The problem is that IE understands only RGB formatted Jpeg. While other browsers will render non RGB Jpeg images easily, IE cannot parse them.
The Solution
While saving a Jpeg to be used in a website, use “Save for web” rather than just plain “Save”.
For existing images open them in an editor and change the color mode from CMYK to RGB, re save it and use the new image.
